Heather Pressler, PhD

From humble beginnings as a self-taught HTML web designer, Facebook pioneer, MIT grad and scientist to curating a large team of digital marketing professionals delivering results for clients.

Passion for Small Business

One of my first memories of using the internet was learning how to code websites. It started with one featuring my favorite Seattle-area bands and eventually, I built the first website for my Dad’s engineering firm.

My Grandfather and Father were both entrepreneurs as engineers in Cleveland, Ohio and Honolulu, Hawaii. Both had stellar professional reputations, but running a business did not always come naturally to them. Seeing their struggles ingrained in me a passion to help top-notch professionals succeed in business.

In high school, I managed marketing campaigns for my Dad’s engineering firm and won two national DECA business competitions. One presentation in Seattle won me a college scholarship and lead to changes in the way Bon Marche (a subsidiary of Macy’s) laid out its merchandise in the store. When my Dad started his second engineering business in Seattle, I helped him launch his brand from my dorm room at MIT.

The Facebook

As a student at MIT, I was determined to become a scientist-entrepreneur. A friend told me about “The” Facebook for Harvard and MIT students to connect which lead to me being one of the first few hundred users of the platform.

Graduate school at Johns Hopkins University and research at NIH brought me to the Washington, DC area. My research career spanned continents, world-renowed labs and cutting-edge medical technologies.

From Science to Sales

The next great challenge was making the leap into pharmaceutical and medical device sales. As a salesperson, I was consistently nationally ranked at the top. My success was a simple formula – an educational approach to sales and helping clientele market themselves better.

That success lead to my first business venture helping Washington DC area clients match their online reputation with their in-person reputation. Since then, my experience has expanded into many different industries and geographies.

Local Resident

I now live in Falls Church City with my active-duty military husband, our two kids and Schnoodle, Lucky. We enjoy staying active in and going to community events. I volunteer my time to improve local non-profits, our schools and as the President of the Board for Medical Care for Children Partnership Program.
